Hathway Cable and Datacom Q1 FY27 Results: Net Profit Rises 118% Sequentially to ₹24.56 Crore, Driven by Steady Operations

Digital cable television and broadband internet service provider Hathway Cable and Datacom Limited (NSE: HATHWAY; BSE: 533262) today announced its unaudited consolidated financial results for the first quarter of fiscal year 2027 ended June 30, 2026. The company achieved steady top-line expansion, resulting in a dramatic sequential profit bounce, even as elevated content acquisition costs caused a moderate contraction in year-on-year (YoY) bottom-line metrics.

Income Architecture and Top-Line Tractions

Hathway expanded its operating footprint across its core multi-system operator (MSO) and internet service portfolios during the three-month period:

Revenue from Operations: Logged at ₹565.10 crore for Q1 FY27, registering a steady 6.5% year-on-year (YoY) growth against the ₹530.50 crore reported in the first quarter of the previous fiscal year. On a sequential basis, revenue advanced by 3.5% compared to ₹545.85 crore in Q4 FY26.

However, on a year-on-year basis, net profit dipped 20.9% against the ₹31.03 crore posted in the base quarter of the last fiscal year, pinned down by high variable operational outlays.

Net Profit Attributable to Parent Owners: Concluded at ₹24.50 crore, while non-controlling interests brought in a minimal ₹0.06 crore.

Total Comprehensive Income: Stood at ₹24.76 crore, aided by small positive re-measurements of defined benefit plans worth ₹0.20 crore.

Earnings Per Share (EPS): Basic and diluted EPS for the quarter bounced back sequentially to ₹0.14 per share (face value of ₹2 each), moving up from ₹0.06 in Q4 FY26 but landing slightly under the ₹0.18 recorded in Q1 FY26.

Cost Matrix and Operational Expenditures
