According to the Master Plan drawn out by the Delhi International Airport Ltd., (DIAL) - the Joint Venture Company selected by the Government to modernize and expand the Indira Gandhi International Airport, Delhi - the construction of a new domestic arrival terminal along with the expansion of terminal-IA for all departures, will be completed by mid-2008. This information was given by Shri Praful Patel, Minister for Civil Aviation in the Parliament today.
A new runway parallel to the existing main runway (10-28) will also be ready. A new Integrated Terminal will come up by 2010 with the capacity to cater to 37 million passengers annually which, incidentally, is the projected traffic demand by 2010.
