The groundbreaking ceremony of ACC Limited's Greenfield Project of 2.7 MTPA integrated cement plant with 1 MTPA cement grinding unit at Ametha in Kymore, Madhya Pradesh was performed by Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan, Hon'ble Chief Minister, Madhya Pradesh accompanied by Shri Vishnu Dutt Sharma, M.P. Khajuraho & State BJP President, Shri Brajendra Pratap Singh, Minister, Mining Resources & Labour Department and Shri Sanjay Satyendra Pathak, M.L.A. Vijayraghavgarh in the presence of Mr Neeraj Akhoury, CEO India, LafargeHolcim and Managing Director & CEO, Ambuja Cements Limited and Mr Sridhar Balakrishnan, Managing Director & CEO, ACC Limited.

The new project will further strengthen our partnership and propel the growth of the State", said Mr Neeraj Akhoury, CEO India, LafargeHolcim and Managing Director & CEO, Ambuja Cements Limited.

"ACC has always acted as a catalyst in the growth of the State and has partnered with the State in its development. Our Greenfield Project at Ametha will support the growth objectives of the State Government" added, Mr Sridhar Balakrishnan, Managing Director & CEO, ACC Limited.

Equipped with state-of-the-art technology, the eco-friendly flagship project will have an energy efficient rotary kiln system with pre-calciner (capacity 9500 Tons per day) and Waste Heat Recovery system of 15 MW capacity. Generation of green power in the project will reduce consumption of grid power generated through fossil fuel, which will lead to significant reduction in CO2 emission by ~1.4 LT per annum and decrease dependency on exhaustible fossil fuel. This project will create approximately 5000+ direct and indirect employment opportunities.

ACC's operations in Madhya Pradesh started in 1923 at Kymore, Dist Katni, MP and currently, it has a capacity of up to 3.6 MTPA clinkering & 2.72 MTPA cement grinding. Over the years, ACC Kymore has been taking significant measures to aid the social development of local communities benefitting over 45,000 people in 16 villages around its operations.

Shares of ACC LTD. was last trading in BSE at Rs.1724.45 as compared to the previous close of Rs. 1749.5. The total number of shares traded during the day was 40072 in over 2869 trades.

The stock hit an intraday high of Rs. 1761.4 and intraday low of 1715.45. The net turnover during the day was Rs. 69726222.
