Nifty Gains for the second session in a row

Nifty continued its pullback with a gain of 42 points to close at 25725. Despite a weak start on a Nifty weekly expiry day, the index staged an intraday turnaround, surging over 150 points from its morning lows. This recovery was backed by conviction, as NSE cash market volumes rose by 7% compared to the previous session.

Adani Enterprises, ITC, and BEL topped Nifty gainers, while Hindalco, Eternal, and Tata Steel lagged amid selling pressure.

The rebound was broad-based, with nearly all sectoral indices finishing in the green. PSU Banks, IT, and FMCG led the charge, while the Metal, Realty, and Oil & Gas sectors were the only outliers to close with losses.

Broader markets outperformed, as Nifty Midcap 100 rose 0.27% and Smallcap 0.56%. Market breadth turned positive after four sessions, with an advance-decline ratio of 1.39 signaling fresh buying in mid- and small-caps.

After yesterday's bullish Engulfing pattern, Nifty managed to register follow up gains in today's trade, which successfully filled the gap range 25630 - 25752 formed on 13th Feb 2026. Next resistance for the Nifty is seen near 26000, while a levels of 25570 and 25372 could offer support in the near term.
