While there is no dearth of talent across the country, there is certainly a paucity of platforms for children to discover and express themselves, especially for children of rural areas. While Indians blessed resources have better opportunities to display their talents, talented children from underprivileged backgrounds often go unnoticed due to lack of opportunity and platform.
Taking this into account, the Corporate Social Responsibility initiative of Offshore IT training company Koenig Solutions - rightfully christened Koenig Koshish organizes a unique Talent Hunt every year for children of Delhi's rural areas. The 4th Talent Hunt Day held today at Shalamar Village saw many children come together to express and display their hidden talents and get dozes of encouragement.
They sang and danced their heart out and participated in a number of cultural and artistic activities to win prizes and accolades. The event witnessed a wide range of talent including singing, dancing, art and craft, acting and other several acts. The stage provided an opportunity to the children to recognize their talent and a helped them to come out in open exhibiting their potential.
Koenig's 2020 mission aims at teaching 1,00,000 underprivileged children of New Delhi by the year 2020, and this talent hunt is a part of the program to boost children's confidence I their abilities.
"Koenig Koshish is a dedicated initiative to reach to the last mile of the society. While there are numerous programs under this wing, it primarily focuses on the development of underprivileged children. Most of us live in urban areas, study in good schools and colleges and there is no dearth of opportunities for us to explore our talents and take them forward. However, for children living in rural areas just a few kilometers from central Delhi, life is very different. Our annual talent hunt is one of the efforts of Koenig Koshish, where we provide a platform, encouragement as well as awards to talented children to pursue their dreams says Mr Rohit Aggarwal CEO Koenig Solutions.
"It is our social responsibility for us all to help all children nurture their talents up to the extent that it could benefit the future of India. However, many a talent and potential is lost because there are millions of children who neither have the resources, nor the platform to develop their talents into valuable skills. At Koenig we have taken a pledge to polish their skills and provide them a platform to nurture and showcase their talent. While it is impossible to cover all the areas at once, through this annual talent hunt, we try to cover different rural areas of Delhi," said Mr Rohit Aggarwal CEO Koenig Solutions.
The event was well attended by the Koenig staff and 2000 children who are already associated with the institution. The presence of peers helped the children shed their hesitation and participate in the hunt with zeal and passion.
Meanwhile, the hunt comes under the umbrella of efforts of Koenig Koshish where in it provides free of cost tuition classes every day along with curriculum books to 1200+ school students from class V to XII. Besides, Koenig also provides Computer Vocational Training to 800+ youngsters, helping them secure a decent living since 2007. Koenig has won Microsoft Citizenship Award for these CSR Activities in 2009.
