The Kingfisher ULTRA Chandigarh Style Week in collaboration with Storm Fashion Company enthralled the city fashion lovers for three days as the ramp dazzled with some of the most exquisite collections of renowned designers from all over the country. The beautiful amalgamation of incredible textures, silhouettes, style and colours bewitched the fashion world's who's who as they experienced a visual treat of fascinating designs from a unique league of top designers.
Highlights: Day 1
Distinguished designers Mona Pali and Aslam Khan brought their most exquisite and extravagant collections to the runway and gripped the audience in a fascinating fashion frenzy on the first day of Kingfisher ULTRA Chandigarh Style Week. An exciting and extraordinary fusion of textures, colours and patterns wowed the glamour world as the Kingfisher ULTRA Chandigarh Style Week left fashion connoisseurs speechless. With elections round the corner, the designer sister duo Mona Lamba and Pali Sachdev opened the show with their collection 'Election Fever'.
The collection showcased a series of sarees inspired by political party symbols and colours to attract the politically aware customers. They also showcased their latest collection, 'Brahma Kamal'. A blend of the modern and the traditional, this collection plays with muted tones of white, beige and gold with accents in shades of blue. The showstopper, Vanya Mishra, walked with great panache and set the ramp on fire with her attitude and poise.
Following this was Aslam Khan's show. Maximizing is the key in designer Aslam Khan's collection. He focused on highlighting femininity through his collection. Working with a host of fabrics and silhouettes that accentuate the feminine form, his silhouettes ranged from the traditional Indian to the contemporary western. Model Natasha Suri and the winner of #KFUltraShowStopper, Jaydeep Gajera and Ankita Patel stole the show with their grace as they sashayed down the runway as the showstoppers.
Highlights: Day 2
The second day of the Kingfisher ULTRA Chandigarh Style Week saw an escalation in the glamour quotient of the event with mesmerizing collections featured by internationally acclaimed designers Agnimitra Paul and Rocky S that awed the audience. Agnimitra Paul opened the show with her latest collection 'Woman of Substance'. It was a very lively runway as models playfully cat-walked their way up and down, smiling and interacting as they passed each other. Anurita Jha of Gangs of Wasseypur fame and Chandigarh's very own and internationally acclaimed golfer Saaniya Sharma walked the ramp with great poise, doing complete justice to the glittering show.
Following her was Rocky S who brought forth some of the flirtiest and sensuous designs comprising of resort wear and holiday wear. The collection in itself spelled an enigmatic and free spirited feel showcasing an eclectic mix of style with leisure. Walking for him was gorgeous Evelyn Sharma who sizzled the ramp with her glamorous presence.
Highlights: Day 3
The grand finale of the Kingfisher ULTRA Chandigarh Style Week surpassed the expectations of the fashionistas who were treated to exquisite collections by renowned designers. The grand finale of the three day fashion extravaganza was opened was by very talented Mumtaz Khan who showcased his collection 'Save the Earth'. The collection celebrates the vibrancy and variety of non chemical prints in different fabrics like cotton, georgette and chiffon. Bollywood actors Sawar Ali and Anurita Jha stole the show as they sashayed the ramp oozing style and glamour.
Followed by Mumtaz was Punjab's very own Sonu Gandhi who presented her hypnotic collection – 'Dawn to dusk' which focused on the modern yet contemporary summer wear. Bringing back the vintage look, the designer revealed the trends for Spring Summer 2014. Walking for her was ex- Femina Miss India Manasvi Mamgai.
Known for his versatility and distinguished style sense, designer Jattinn Kochhar presented his collection 'Beautiful people'. It was dedicated to his family and all the beautiful people in his life. The highlight of the evening was his charming six year old daughter Niyamat Kochhar who walked the ramp with absolute grace as the showstopper of the show as audiences cheered in appreciation for the lovely little star.
The grand finale show 'Retro Glam' by Manoviraj Khosla brought curtains down to the three day Kingfisher ULTRA Chandigarh Style Week. Sequins, colours, linen, a generous dose of metallic gold and lots of bikini babes shot the city's temperature high as they walked the ramp. Showstopper Meera Chopra glamed up the evening with her glittering presence.
The Emperor of Good Times ensured that the festivities were perpetuated through the night and the fashion world partied one last time in the city of Chandigarh. DJ Chico spinned some of his best known pulsating tracks and got the designers and their friends grooving to his tunes. The high profile glitterati let their hair down and sipped their favourite brew as they celebrated and soaked in the city's fashion high. With this, the Kingfisher ULTRA Chandigarh Style Week came to a scintillating end and left the city's fashion aficionados hungry for the next edition!
