BASE, the Bangalore based, premier training organisation providing quality training for competitive examinations such IIT-JEE, AIEEE, AIPMT, CET, COMEDK etc has announced BASE@Home & Distance Learning Programs (DLP) to help train students who cannot access its classroom programs. These unique programs will use the availability of the internet technology to train and deliver the same learning experience of its classroom programs to students who have difficulty in accessing the same. This program will help students, especially in smaller towns of Karnataka, who have to travel to cities like Bangalore, Mysore for quality training.
The BASE@Home programme will be Live and interactive, similar to normal classroom programmes. The teachers and students will be able to interact with each other through a two-way audio-video facility. In addition to the live classroom sessions, the students will have access to online tests and solutions. The courseware for the programme would be sent by post. Tests will be taken online and a student will have access to feedback on his/her performance through video-based solutions. A special feature will be the availability of video-based solutions to problems.
Distance Learning Program (DLP) will have printed course materials, worksheets and tests sent through courier. Students will be given a systematic learning plan to follow. The students can also participate in tests at BASE centres. Periodically, contact classes will be conducted over the internet. Students can also interact with teachers either through email or conventional mail and students queries will be responded to.
The students of both these programs will have access to the same teachers who have been training students at BASE successfully for many years. Students will also be provided additional support through e-mails and discussion forums. There will be provision for students to meet the faculty in person if they wish.
Speaking about the programs, Mr. Vallish Herur, Director, BASE, said, "This is an innovative training format. BASE has always been at the forefront of leveraging technology to train students effectively. Our aim of these programs is to reach out to those students, especially in smaller towns in Karnataka who cannot attend our classroom programs due to various reasons such as unavailability of a BASE Centre, time constraints, long commuting hours or other priorities etc."
