SkyTeam selects Kale Consultants' APEX for Neutral Fare Proration Service

Kale Consultants Ltd on has announced that SkyTeam, the global airline alliance, has selected the Company's APEX™ as a Neutral Fare Proration (NFP) engine for ITAT's First & Final (F&F) Billing Service.

With this development, the Company adds the entire global airline alliance of SkyTeam including Air France KLM, Korean Air, Alitalia, CSA, Aeromexico, Aeroflot to its customer list. Continental Airways, Northwest Airlines and Delta are existing the Company's customers. All Skyteam alliance members will now use Company's APEX™ for their F&F settlement.

APEX™ has been selected by International Air Transport Association (IATA) as one of the two suppliers for their Neutral Fare Proration Service to airlines. NFP forms the core of the First & Final interline billing service, launched by IATA. By using APEX™, these airlines can now obtain consistent and reliable proration results.

IATA's vision is to create a process that would involve 'First & Final' settlement of interline bills between airlines. This would eliminate the problem of duplicate proration and the high level of rejection of interline bills by airlines. IATA expects this process to provide airlines with significant cost reduction and improvements in the quality and timeliness of information.

In order to establish this Service for airlines, IATA had undertaken an evaluation of the various proration engines in the market. As a result of this evaluation, IATA identified two proration engines - APEX™ from the Company and CIPS from ATPCO as being equally suited to provide neutral prorate service.
