Essar Teleholdings Updates on Scheme of Arrangement

Essar Teleholdings Ltd has announced that the Board of Directors of the Company at its meeting held on October 18, 2006 has decided to withdraw the Scheme of Arrangement in the nature of de-merger of Telecommunications Undertaking of BPL Communications Ltd into the Company.
