Ranbaxy Appoints Atul Sobti as COO

Ranbaxy Laboratories Ltd on December 11, 2006 has announced the elevation of Atul Sobti to the position of Chief Operating Officer (COO), of the Company, from January 01, 2007. Atul Sobti will he responsible for Global Business Operations, Manufacturing and Generic Development.

The position of the COO reinforces the company’s aggressive game plan to accelerate growth and take advantage of the changing business dynamic that emphasizes equally, aspects of product portfolio, quality, global footprint and cost efficiency.

During the year the Company made significant progress in consolidating its business and maintaining its growth momentum. Considerable inorganic investments were made to strengthen the company’s presence across the globe.
