Satyam helps Customers prepare for Windows Vista

Satyam Computer Services Ltd has announced that Microsoft has selected the Company to participate in the Windows Vista Application Compatibility Factory (ACF), a program designed to help organizations around the world implement Windows Vista, the latest operating system from Microsoft. Recognizing applications compatibility as a challenge for most enterprises, Microsoft created ACF to help Windows Vista customers assess and remediate their existing applications, mitigate the risks inherent in migration, and accelerate rollout.

The Company, a key Microsoft industry partner with significant expertise on its products and technologies, is amongst the first and one of just six global organizations (of Microsoft’s 650,000 partners and 15 globally managed partners) participating in the ACF. Several Company's experts have undergone in-depth training on Windows Vista, and are now qualified to oversee and facilitate deployment of the operating system, which will become available later this month.

"As an ACF partner, Satyam has a significant 'early-bird' advantage," said Nick Sharma, senior vice president, Infrastructure Management Services, of the Company, "We already know how to mitigate risk and manage remediation associated with Windows Vista-well before it has been released. These capabilities, coupled with our strong infrastructure skills and global packaging lab, enable us to optimize the benefits Windows Vista customers receive as quickly as possible - a real source of confidence and peace of mind for customers."

In addition, Hari Natarajan senior vice president in charge of the Company's strategic relationship with Microsoft noted, "As a key partner for a major Microsoft global launch, Satyam benefits by gaining access to a strong opportunity pipeline driven by Microsoft, apart from helping us to build a Windows Vista Center of Excellence, which will further facilitate its optimal adoption across our shared enterprise customers."

Specifically, an ACF partner will help customers determine how to make their existing work with Windows Vista. The Company will help customers identify application blockers, assess their application inventories, and determine the best ways to proceed with implementation.

Moreover, as an ACF partner, the Company will pass on exclusive technical training and application compatibility remediation materials it receives from Microsoft to organizations that engage the ACF.
