Tata Capital Limited has published its financial results for the first quarter ended June 30, 2026, delivering substantial year-on-year growth across both standalone and consolidated operations. Driven by a robust expansion in core financing revenue, the financial services arm of the Tata Group demonstrated strong operational performance and balance sheet strength.
Consolidated Results: Profit Reaches ₹1,628 Crore
On a consolidated basis, Tata Capital recorded total income of ₹8,825.38 crore for Q1 FY27, marking a solid 14.74% increase from ₹7,691.65 crore reported in the corresponding quarter of the previous fiscal year (Q1 FY26). Sequential total income also grew by 8.12% from ₹8,162.31 crore recorded in Q4 FY26.

Revenue Breakdown: Interest income continued to serve as the primary growth engine, reaching ₹7,940.86 crore, up from ₹6,931.74 crore in Q1 FY26. Fee and commission income rose significantly to ₹454.26 crore compared to ₹347.50 crore in the year-ago quarter. Net gains on fair value changes stood at ₹184.06 crore, recovering sharply from a loss of ₹32.21 crore in the previous sequential quarter.
Profitability: Consolidated profit before tax (PBT) reached ₹2,159.12 crore, representing a 56.21% jump over ₹1,382.19 crore in Q1 FY26. Total tax expense for the quarter stood at ₹530.94 crore.
Net Profit: Profit after tax (PAT) jumped to ₹1,628.18 crore, reflecting a growth of 56.42% compared to ₹1,040.93 crore in Q1 FY26 and a sequential gain from ₹1,466.27 crore in Q4 FY26. Profit attributable to the owners of the company stood at ₹1,547.38 crore.
Earnings Per Share: Basic and diluted earnings per share for the quarter rose to ₹3.65, up from ₹2.48 in the same period last year.
Asset Base: Total consolidated segment assets crossed a major benchmark to stand at ₹3,01,713.76 crore as of June 30, 2026, up from ₹2,52,108.95 crore a year earlier and ₹2,90,503.54 crore at the end of FY26.

On a standalone basis, Tata Capital posted total income of ₹6,336.96 crore for Q1 FY27, up 13.15% from ₹5,600.26 crore in Q1 FY26 and ₹6,110.93 crore in Q4 FY26.

Net Profit: Standalone profit after tax stood at ₹999.44 crore, recording a steep rise of 75.93% compared to ₹568.08 crore in Q1 FY26, though slightly lower than the ₹1,182.60 crore achieved in Q4 FY26.
Expenses and Impairment: Total expenses rose to ₹4,994.07 crore from ₹4,837.42 crore in Q1 FY26, driven mainly by higher finance costs of ₹3,017.36 crore. However, impairment provisions on financial instruments saw a sharp decline to ₹669.15 crore compared to ₹886.84 crore in Q1 FY26, signaling improving credit metrics.
Asset Quality: Non-performing assets (NPAs) demonstrated consistent operational improvement:
Gross NPA: Reduced to 2.45% in Q1 FY27, down from 2.61% in Q4 FY26 and 2.62% in Q1 FY26.
Net NPA: Improved to 1.07%, down from 1.15% in Q4 FY26 and 1.24% in Q1 FY26.
Provision Coverage Ratio (PCR): Strengthened to 56.99%, compared to 56.36% in the previous quarter and 53.44% in Q1 FY26.
Capital and Financial Health: Standalone Net Worth surged to ₹39,242.68 crore as of June 30, 2026, up significantly from ₹27,394.14 crore in Q1 FY26. The Capital Adequacy Ratio (CAR) remained healthy at 18.46%, well above regulatory thresholds. The debt-to-equity ratio stood at 4.32 times, down from 5.32 times in the year-ago period.

Investment & Other Activities: Investment activity posted consolidated revenue of ₹145.68 crore with segment results of ₹118.59 crore, recovering from a loss segment result of ₹107.38 crore in Q4 FY26. Other business streams contributed ₹176.96 crore in revenue during the quarter.
