GHCL appoints Edelweiss Capital to restructure company

GHCL Ltd has announced that with the vision to be a global leader in soda ash and home textiles the Company has already consolidated its position by acquiring soda ash assets in Romania and home textile distribution and retail businesses in USA and UK apart from organic growth in India. The Company has also seen significant growth in its global revenues.

Consequent to the above a need is being felt for evaluating the corporate and legal structure of its core businesses and to align it with its emerging business realities. This may require appropriate restructuring Of the Company’s corporate and legal structure together with complete integration of the teams which have come with recent acquisitions, the process of which is already underway.

To achieve the above, the Company has retained the services of M/s Edelweiss Capital Ltd to evaluate the various models for restructuring of the core businesses of soda ash and home textiles keeping in view the future growth plans of the Company. The Company is also looking at this exercise from the point of view of enhancement and unlocking of strong shareholder valuation.

The final suggested structure would be approved by the Board / Shareholders / Lenders of the Company.
