A new 'Landmark' for Pune's book and music aficionados

Pune now has a new 'Landmark'! India's largest book and music retailer launched its first store on Moledina Road (next to Dorabjees), Pune Camp on Thursday, December 14, 2006. Acclaimed cartoonist and author R K Laxman graced the occasion by cutting the ribbon and lighting the lamp at the store. Creator of the most well known cartoon character, 'The Common Man', who has been entertaining millions of Indian households across the country, he also drew the caricature of this widely loved and admired immortal being for the onlookers at the store. Awe-struck by the author's effortless sketching, the crowd kept asking for more!

Beginning December 14, 2006, Landmark will provide books and music lovers in Pune with a high measure of entertainment, making every visit a memorable experience. The opening of the store will mark the beginning of celebrations and festivities, wherein the first activity will be the launch of the book Fireproof by Raj Kamal Jha on Saturday, December 16, 2006 at 7.00 pm.
