Stone India receives Beam Mounted Air Brake system order for freight train

Stone India Ltd has announced that the Company has received for the first time the Beam Mounted Air Brake System order for a complete Freight Train. This is a major break through for the Company.

The Company has developed this patented sophisticated product indigenously. For the first time in the 75 years history of the Company it has been successful in introduction of its own patented high value safety p[product. So long the Company had acquired sophisticated technology through foreign collaborations.

This will pave the way for gradual adoption of such brake systems in Indian Railways in not only in the new rolling stock, but also in old rolling stock refurbishment. The order value of such a system is Rs 94 Lacs per freight train. Indian Railway on an average runs more than 3000 such trains, which may need retrofitment of such Brake System. With new dedicated Freight Corridor coming up the freight traffic & number of such trains are bound to increase significantly.
