Kothari Industrial Corporation Limited (KICL) has announced a significant amendment to its existing service contract with the Integral Coach Factory (ICF), Chennai, a key manufacturing unit of the Indian Railways. In a regulatory filing dated April 2, 2026, the company confirmed a 25% quantity enhancement in its current engagement.
The contract involves the hiring of 3-ton and 5-ton forklift trucks, complete with drivers, fuel, and associated support staff for the movement of coach items within ICF's Furnishing Division Shops. Under the new terms, the contract quantity has been increased from 100% to 125%.
Key Financial and Operational Details
The amendment adds approximately ₹1.27 Crore to the original contract value. With this enhancement, the revised total contract value stands at ₹6.33 Crore (inclusive of GST). To accommodate the increased workload, the execution period has been extended until July 24, 2026.
The company noted that while the quantity has increased, all other original terms and conditions remain unchanged. However, the contract remains subject to a variation clause and may be short-closed if future tender rates are found to be lower.
