AIMOTO, a wholly owned subsidiary of Artificial Electronics Intelligent Material Limited (AEIM), announced a major technological breakthrough with the successful in-house development and manufacturing of ultra-high-purity silver nitrate and engineered nano-silver particles derived directly from metallic silver. This advancement positions India among a select group of nations capable of producing semiconductor-grade and biomedical-grade nanoscale silver materials through a completely indigenous, end-to-end process.
This development marks a significant step forward for India's materials engineering capabilities. Until now, the country relied heavily on high-purity silver derivatives imported from China, Japan, and Europe. AIMOTO's achievement strengthens domestic self-reliance and creates a secure supply chain for industries that depend on these advanced materials.
AIMOTO has created a completely homegrown technology platform to enable this breakthrough. The process integrates advanced electrochemical dissolution techniques, multi-stage crystallization, plasma-assisted nano-silver synthesis, and surface functionalization protocols, all developed internally without any foreign technology licensing. The company has also built its own continuous-flow nano-reactor systems and inline spectroscopic monitoring tools to ensure precise control, high purity, and reproducible output at scale. Every step, from precursor generation to nanoparticle stabilization, has been engineered and validated within AIMOTO's facilities, ensuring complete process sovereignty.
After the successful completion of pilot-scale validation, AIMOTO is preparing for commercial-scale production, supported by automated nano-synthesis reactors, controlled-atmosphere systems, high-purity filtration, and solvent-recovery infrastructure. The production framework adheres to global semiconductor-grade and REACH compliance standards, with inert-atmosphere packaging introduced to maintain long-term material stability.
Vishaal, Executive Director, AEIM Limited, said, "This breakthrough marks the establishment of a fully indigenous materials-technology platform for high-purity silver derivatives. Our teams have engineered integrated processes grounded in advanced electrochemical dissolution, controlled nucleation thermodynamics, and plasma-assisted nano-reduction techniques. The result is nano-silver with exceptional purity, consistent morphology, and precise particle-size distribution meeting the demanding requirements of semiconductor and biomedical applications.
For the first time, India has achieved sovereign capability in producing nanoscale silver materials that were historically import-dependent. This advancement strengthens national supply-chain resilience and positions the AEIM Group to play a key role in global high-technology value chains."
AIMOTO's move into commercial production positions the company to supply high-purity silver-based nanomaterials to critical sectors such as semiconductors, healthcare, defense, and advanced manufacturing, strengthening India's indigenous materials ecosystem.
