Sh. Bhupender Gupta, CMD, SJVN, informed that the first unit (660 MW) of the 1320 MW Buxar Thermal Power Project has been successfully synchronized with the National Grid today. This shall pave the way for successful commencement of COD process.
On this occasion, Sh. Bhupender Gupta said that this achievement stands as a testament to the dedication and tireless efforts of our project team and all stakeholders. He further stated that the project will play a significant role in meeting the growing energy demand of the nation while also driving sustained economic growth in Bihar.
Sh. Ajay Kumar Sharma, Director (Personnel), SJVN, highlighted that the synchronization of the first unit of BTPP will enhance SJVN's total energy generation capacity and further strengthen its energy portfolio.
The 1320 MW Buxar Thermal Power Project (2x660 MW) is located at Chausa, District Buxar, Bihar and has been implemented by SJVN Thermal Private Limited, a wholly-owned subsidiary of SJVN. The project is equipped with state-of-the-art supercritical technology, ensuring higher efficiency and reduced environmental impact. With an investment of ₹13,756.56 crore, the project will generate 9,828.72 Million Units of electricity annually. The 85% of the generated power will be supplied to the state of Bihar.
The project is poised to bring substantial economic and social benefits to Bihar and the Eastern region by enhancing power availability and addressing peak-hour shortages.
Shares of SJVN Limited was last trading in BSE at Rs. 97.35 as compared to the previous close of Rs. 97.58. The total number of shares traded during the day was 722422 in over 6179 trades.
The stock hit an intraday high of Rs. 99.71 and intraday low of 97.11. The net turnover during the day was Rs. 71160111.00.
