Shipping Corporation signs contract with Bharati Shipyard for 4 vessels

With reference to the earlier announcement dated October 11, 2007, Shipping Corporation of India Ltd has announced that the Company’s Board had cleared the proposal for acquisition of 4 nos. Anchor Handling, Towing & Supply vessels from M/s. Bharati Shipyard Ltd., it is hereby informed that the shipbuilding contracts in this regard have been signed with M/s. Bharati Shipyard Ltd. on October 15, 2007 at New Delhi.

The stock closed the day at Rs.246.55, up by Rs.34.90 or 16.49%. The stock hit an intraday high of Rs.249.95 and low of Rs.214.60.

The total traded quantity was 818802 compared to 2 week average of 225750.
