Titagarh Naval Systems Ltd launches Fourth Diving Support Craft A23 for Indian Navy

Titagarh Naval Systems Limited (TNSL), a wholly owned subsidiary of Titagarh Rail Systems Limited, is proud to achieve another milestone in its shipbuilding journey with the launch of the fourth Diving Support Craft A23 (YARD 328) for the Indian Navy. The vessel is part of an ongoing series of five DSCs being constructed under the Government of India's Make in India initiative.

The launch ceremony was graced by Mrs. Deepa Sivakumar, wife of Vice Admiral B Sivakumar, AVSM, VSM, COM who performed the traditional naming and launch of the vessel. The craft was successfully side launched into the Hooghly River at 1455 Hrs on 19th April 2026. Around 150 employees were present to witness this important occasion.

Designed as catamaran-type vessels, these Diving Support Crafts are equipped with advanced, indigenously sourced systems to support the Indian Navy's Command Clearance Diving Teams (CCDTs). They will play a critical role in underwater operations, including inspection, repair, maintenance, and salvage activities within harbour and near-shore environments.

Speaking on the occasion, Shri Umesh Chowdhary, Vice Chairman & Managing Director, Titagarh Rail Systems Limited, said: "The launch of DSC A23 (YARD 328) marks steady progress in our commitment to delivering specialised vessels for the Indian Navy. We are proud to contribute to enhancing the Navy's operational preparedness through these advanced platforms."

Speaking on the occasion, Vice Admiral B Sivakumar, AVSM, VSM, COM, Indian Navy, said: "It was a privilege to mark the launch of DSC A23 (YARD 328), a key milestone reflecting dedicated teamwork, engineering excellence, and India's growing self-reliance in defence manufacturing. Launched in Kolkata, a city with a rich maritime legacy, the indigenously built 30-metre catamaran will enhance diving and underwater operations in coastal waters. He appreciated the strong collaboration between the Indian Navy, the shipyard, and industry partners, and expressed confidence that such indigenous efforts will further strengthen India's maritime power."

In addition to operational deployment, the DSCs will serve as training platforms for the Navy's diving personnel, supporting capability development and readiness.

This launch further underscores the evolving role of Titagarh Naval Systems Limited as the dedicated arm for shipbuilding and maritime systems, following the strategic restructuring of Titagarh Rail Systems Limited. The move enables a sharper focus on maritime growth while continuing to build on the TRSL's engineering strengths, reaffirming our commitment to the nation and towards a Viksit Bharat.

This launch marks the growing role of Titagarh Naval Systems Limited as a dedicated shipbuilding and maritime systems company, formed after the strategic restructuring of Titagarh Rail Systems Limited. This move helps us focus more clearly on maritime growth and also strengthens our new expansion at Falta, West Bengal. The Falta facility is being developed into a modern shipyard spread over approximately 50 acres, aimed at meeting both national and international shipbuilding requirements. This initiative reflects our strong commitment to the nation and supports the vision of a Viksit Bharat.

Shares of Titagarh Naval Systems Limited was last trading in BSE at Rs. 730.30 as compared to the previous close of Rs. 741.05. The total number of shares traded during the day was 71989 in over 2554 trades.

The stock hit an intraday high of Rs. 746.00 and intraday low of 726.50. The net turnover during the day was Rs. 52902620.00.
