Moving Picture Company India Ltd has announced that the Company's 3D Animation series JUNGLE TALES (based on the Panchatantra tales) episode ‘Kachhua aur Khargosh’ won the Best Animation film in the 53rd National Awards announced on August 07, 2007.
The announcement made by the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting read: AWARD FOR THE BEST ANIMATION FILM - KACHUA AUR KHARGOSH (Hindi)
The Citation read : The award for the Best Animation film for 2005 is given to Kachua Aur Khargosh for its delightful adaptation and twist to the well-known Hare and Tortoise story using apt voices, lively dialogues and the latest 3D animation technique skillfully in an Indian setting.
The Company is a leading production house and only recently, its International co-production with HBO- The Journalist and The Jihadi- The Murder of Daniel Pearl was nominated for Two Emmy Awards in the USA. The company produces a number of TV shows for various Indian TV channels. It has also completed ten spots for BBC World for the Incredible India campaign.
The Company has in the past, produced critically acclaimed international documentaries as well as content for various Indian Television channels, among them POPKORN and FILMY FEVER for ZOOM, FEAR FACTOR and CURRENT BOLLYWOOD for SONY and SETMAX, KAUN BANEGA CHAMPU for FILMY, B NEWS for ZEE MUSIC and SUBAH SAVERE for DOORDARSHAN NATIONAL. The Company is negotiating and developing a number of programmes including an International feature film based on the life and times of the Indian artist AMRITA SHER GIL.
