Sterlite Optical announces Q1 results, reports net profit of Rs.12.74 Crores

Sterlite Optical Technologies Ltd has announced the following Unaudited Results for the quarter ended June 30, 2007.

The Company has posted a net profit after tax of Rs 127.40 million for the quarter ended June 30, 2007 where as the same was at Rs 33.20 million for the quarter ended June 30, 2006. Total Income is Rs 2420.50 million for the quarter ended June 30, 2007 where as the same was at Rs 1001.70 million for the quarter ended June 30, 2006.

The Company has acquired "Power Transmission Line" (PTL) Business on going concern basis w.e.f. July 01, 2006. Hence figures for current period/s are not comparable to figures for the previous period/s.

The company has reported an Earnings Per Share (EPS) of Rs.2.07 for the quarter ended June 30, 2007 compared to Rs.0.57 during quarter ended June 30, 2006.

The stock closed on Friday at Rs.210.35, down by Rs.10.90 or 4.93%. The total traded quantity was 233916 compared to 2 week average of 195674. The stock hit an intraday high of Rs.220 and low of Rs.209.50.
