SAIL Q1 net profit at Rs.1525.12 Crores, up 10% YoY

Steel Authority of India Ltd (SAIL) has announced the following Unaudited results for the quarter ended June 30, 2007.

The Company has posted a net profit after tax of Rs 15251.20 million for the quarter ended June 30, 2007 as compared to Rs 13864.10 million for the quarter ended June 30, 2006. Total Income (net of excise) has increased from Rs 77135.30 million for the quarter ended June 30, 2006 to Rs 83464.00 million for the quarter ended June 30, 2007.

The company has reported an Earnings Per Share (EPS) of Rs.3.69 for the Quarter ending June 30, 2007 compared to Rs.3.36 for Quarter ending June 30, 2006.

The stock closed the day at Rs.153.10, down by Rs.7.75 or 4.82%. The stock hit an intraday high of Rs.161 and low of Rs.152.10. The total traded quantity was 4033865 compared to 2 week average of 2961363.
