Maharashtra Seamless commissions 5 MW Solar Power Project

Maharashtra Seamless Limited has achieved a major milestone with commissioning of 5 MW (AC) Solar Power project on January 6, 2012. The project is located at Pokaran, District Jaisalmer, Rajasthan.

The project was allotted under Jawahar Lal National Solar Mission (JNNSM) by NTPC Vidyut Vyapar Nigam Limited (NVVN), the nodal agency under Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE). The PPA for the project was signed on January 10, 2011 and as per the PPA the project was to be commissioned by January 9, 2012. The power plant will generate 9.855 million units of electricity annually.

The company is already operating 20 wind mills producing 7 MW power in Satara district, Maharashtra.

The Maharashtra Seamless stock closed the day at Rs.318.20, up by Rs.4.20 or 1.34%. The stock hit an intraday high of Rs.322 and low of Rs.311.55.

The total traded quantity was 809 compared to 2 week average of 954.
