Mastek launches Chennai Operations

Mastek Ltd has announced that the Company has launched its operations in Chennai. Mr. Ashank Desai, Founder & Director of the Company was present to grace the occasion.

The Company has planned its expansion in Chennai now; after expanding its presence in Mumbai and Pune. The Company had already in March, 2005 acquired 15.5 acres of land at Mahindra City, Chennai. The facility shall be capable of housing 5000 software professionals.

The Company shall initially commence operations in Chennai with team strength of 75 professionals from the new office at Dr. Radhakrishnan Salai, Mylapore. This facility is also being inaugurated on January 26, 2007.

The Company will invest Rs 300 cr in the next 5 yrs and shall employ 5000 software professionals at its Chennai centre. The facility will be set up in four phases and the first phase will be ready by 2008.

Sudhakar Ram, Chairman & Managing Director of the Company said, "Chennai will be one of the priority markets for us and will be central to Mastek’s growth strategy which further demonstrates our commitment by setting up Mastek’s largest development centre. Launch of this new development centre is a step towards fortifying Mastek’s expansion plans and existing scale of operations which will significantly contribute to the overall growth of the company."
