Merck announces Q4 & FY 06 results, PAT at Rs,11.59 crores

Merck Ltd has announced the following results for the quarter & year ended December 31, 2006:

The Company has posted a net profit of Rs 115.964 million for the quarter ended December 31, 2006 where as the same was at Rs 226.585 million for the quarter ended December 31, 2005. Total Income (net of excise) is Rs 796.804 million for the quarter ended December 31, 2006 where as the same was at Rs 1125.403 million for the quarter ended December 31, 2005.

The Audited results for the Year ended December 31, 2006

The Company has posted a net profit of Rs 1333.515 million for the year ended December 31, 2006 where as the same was at Rs 787.881 million for the year ended December 31, 2005. Total Income (net of excise) is Rs 3607.124 million for the year ended December 31, 2006 where as the same was at Rs 4148.313 million for the year ended December 31, 2005.

The sale of Life Science and Analytics Business excluding Bulk Drugs business has been effective April 01, 2006, therefore the figures for the previous quarter / year are not comparable.
