Reliance Energy - Scheduled Maintenance overhauling of Unit-I of Dahanu Thermal Power Station

Reliance Energy Ltd has announced that the Company owns and operates a 500 MW Thermal Power Station at Dahanu in the Thane District of Maharashtra. The Dahanu Thermal Power Station consists of two units of 250 MW each and these units need to undergo periodic and statutory maintenance overhauling.

As notified to the stock exchange vide its letter dated August 01, 2006, the Company had taken out Unit-1 of the power station for scheduled maintenance for an estimated period of about 25 days starting August 02, 2006.

The Company has successfully completed the scheduled maintenance overhauling of the Unit on August 20, 2006, in a record period of 18 days, thus establishing a new benchmark for the time taken for such maintenance in the country. The Unit has been successfully synchronized to the grid on August 20, 2006.
