Allocation of Liquor Quota by Punjab Govt to Rana Sugars

Rana Sugars Ltd has announced that during the first operating year of the Distillery the Company has been allocated Country Liquor Quota of 7499819 PL by the Punjab Excise Department. The quota allotted to the Company is equivalent to more than 16 Lacs Cases of Country liquor of 50 degree. This will be supplied before March 31, 2007 and will add revenue of Rs 410 million which will improve the profitability of the Company. Further Punjab Govt. has also allotted the Company L-13 licenses in 12 Districts of the State of Punjab. The quota is to be supplied by the Company to numerous retail country liquor vends numbering about 4000 spread over entire State of Punjab.

As per the Special Package of incentives to this Mega Unit, The Government of Punjab has agreed to the following relief and concessions:-

1. Exemption of Punjab Excise Duty upto Rs 250 million in ten consecutive years subject to maximum of Rs 25 million in one year.

2. Exemption from the payment of electricity duty for a period of 5 years.

3. Permission to transport spent wash from Distillery site to Sugar Mill for composition.

4. Exemption from payment of Stamp duty on purchase of additional Land.

5. Permission to use Grain as an alternate Raw Material.
