              Latest coastal observations indicate that the cyclonic storm, PHYAN moved north-northeastwards and lay centred at 1430 hrs IST of today, the 11th November, 2009 very close to the coast near Mumbai. It is expected to cross coast between Alibagh and Mumbai between 1530 and 1630 hrs IST of today, the 11th November 2009. It is likely to move further north- northeastwards and weaken into a deep depression during next six hours.
Under its influence, rainfall at most places with heavy to very heavy falls at a few places is likely over Konkan, Madhya Maharashtra, Marathawada and south Gujarat Region during next 12 hours. Rainfall at many places with isolated heavy falls likely over Madhya Pradesh during next 24 hours.
Gale winds speed reaching 65-75 kmph gusting to 85 kmph are likely along and off north Maharashtra and adjoining south Gujarat coasts during next 06 hours. Sea condition will be high to very high over along and off these coasts.
Damage are expected to thatched huts. Breaking of tree branches causing minor damage to power and communication lines along and off Maharashtra and adjoining Gujarat coast.
Total suspension of fishing operation is suggested along and off the above coast during next 12 hours.
