MOIL Limited Reports Steady Growth in Q1 FY27 Production and Sales

State-owned manganese ore mining major MOIL Limited has announced its provisional production and sales figures for the first quarter of the 2027 fiscal year, maintaining a steady upward trajectory across its mining operations and commercial dispatch logistics.

Core Production and Sales Volume Performance

During the April-June 2026 quarter (Q1 FY27), the Miniratna public sector enterprise recorded improvements in both output and off-take compared to the previous year:

Manganese Ore Production: MOIL extracted 5.08 lakh Metric Tonnes (MT) of manganese ore during the first quarter. This marks a steady increase over the 5.02 lakh MT produced during the corresponding April-June period of the 2026 fiscal year.

Manganese Ore Sales: Commercial dispatches to downstream steel and ferroalloy plants reached 3.68 lakh MT for the quarter. This performance reflects a 3.37% year-on-year expansion against the 3.56 lakh MT sold during Q1 FY26.

Understanding the Volume Gap

The structural gap between the produced volume (5.08 lakh MT) and the sold volume (3.68 lakh MT) during the opening quarter is a typical cyclical occurrence for heavy mining operations in India. It reflects the seasonal accumulation of internal site inventory ahead of the monsoon months (July-September), during which active pit mining slows down and despatches are heavily fulfilled via pre-mined stockpiles.

All highlighted operational figures for the quarter are provisional and remain subject to standard internal reviews and formal statutory audits.

Shares of MOIL Limited was last trading in BSE at Rs. 279.60 as compared to the previous close of Rs. 282.05. The total number of shares traded during the day was 9917 in over 254 trades.
