Commercial vehicle manufacturer SML Mahindra Limited (formerly known as SML Isuzu Limited) has released its sales performance figures for May 2026, reporting a 15% year-on-year growth in total sales volumes.
Monthly Sales Performance: May 2026
During the month of May 2026, SML Mahindra recorded total sales of 1,767 units, increasing from 1,543 units sold during the same month last year.
This overall growth was primarily driven by strong momentum in the passenger vehicles segment. SML Mahindra sold 1,423 passenger vehicles in May 2026 compared to 1,130 units in May 2025, marking a robust 26% growth.
In contrast, the cargo vehicles segment experienced a slowdown. Cargo vehicle volumes declined by 17% year-on-year, with the company selling 344 units in May 2026 against 413 units in the corresponding month of the previous year.
Cumulative Performance: April - May 2026
For the financial year 2026-27 so far, cumulative sales for the April-May period mirrored the monthly growth rate, rising 15% to 3,508 units from 3,055 units in the prior year's corresponding period.
Passenger Vehicles: Cumulative volumes reached 2,754 units in April-May 2026-27, a 22% increase compared to the 2,253 units sold in the first two months of the previous fiscal year.
Cargo Vehicles: Reflecting the ongoing monthly trend, cumulative cargo volumes dropped 6% to 754 units, down from 802 units recorded in the same period last year.
