Bajaj Auto Reports Explosive 83% Export Growth in April 2026

Bajaj Auto Limited has kicked off the 2026-27 financial year with a powerful performance, driven by a massive recovery in international markets. The Pune-based automotive giant reported total sales of 5,13,792 units for April 2026, marking a 40% increase over the 3,65,810 units sold in April 2025.

The highlight of the month was the exceptional surge in exports, which grew by 83% overall, signaling a robust rebound in global demand for both two-wheelers and commercial vehicles.

Segment-Wise Sales Performance

1. Two-Wheelers (2-W)

The two-wheeler segment remains the primary volume driver for the company, showing strong double-digit growth across both domestic and global fronts:

Domestic: Sales grew by 11%, reaching 2,10,063 units compared to 1,88,615 units in the previous year.

Exports: This sub-segment saw a dramatic 78% jump, with 2,29,890 units shipped abroad, compared to 1,29,322 units in April 2025.

Total 2-W: Combined sales stood at 4,39,953 units, up 38% year-on-year.

2. Commercial Vehicles (CV)

Bajaj Auto's commercial vehicle division outpaced the two-wheeler growth rates, particularly in the export market:

Domestic: CV sales rose by 19% to 38,147 units.

Exports: Export volumes more than doubled, soaring 125% to 35,692 units from 15,873 units in the prior year.

Total CV: The segment recorded a total of 73,839 units, representing a 54% increase.

Combined Sales Summary

The consolidated figures for April 2026 reflect a highly balanced growth trajectory between domestic stability and export-led expansion:

Total Domestic Sales: Reached 2,48,210 units, a 13% increase year-on-year.

Total Export Sales: Surged to 2,65,582 units, marking an 83% growth compared to 1,45,195 units in April 2025.

Grand Total: The company crossed the half-million mark for the month with 5,13,792 total units sold.

The April 2026 data indicates that Bajaj Auto has successfully navigated previous global headwinds, as export volumes now exceed domestic sales for the month. This shift underscores the company's strong competitive position in international markets.

The company enters FY27 with significantly higher capacity utilization and a strong sales pipeline.
