Eicher Motors Limited's motorcycle division, Royal Enfield, has kicked off the 2026-27 financial year with significant momentum, reporting total sales of 1,13,164 units in April 2026. This represents a 31% increase compared to the 86,559 units sold during the same period last year.
The month was highlighted by a historic pivot for the brand as it officially entered the electric vehicle market and received prestigious global recognition for its brand strength.
Sales Performance Breakdown
The company's growth was primarily driven by a surge in domestic demand, which offset a slight cooling in international exports:
Domestic Market: Sales within India jumped by 37%, reaching 1,04,129 units compared to 76,002 units in April 2025.
International Business: Exports saw a 14% decline, with 9,035 units shipped globally.
Engine Categories:
Up to 350cc: Models in this segment (including the Bullet, Classic, and Hunter) grew by 34% to 99,703 units.
Exceeding 350cc: Higher-capacity motorcycles saw a 10% rise, totaling 13,461 units.
The Dawn of "Flying Flea"
April 2026 marked the official launch of Flying Flea, Royal Enfield's new city-focused electric mobility brand. The debut model, the FF.C6, was launched in Bengaluru with a starting price of ₹2.79 lakh (or ₹1.99 lakh under a Battery-as-a-Service model). Managing Director B. Govindarajan noted that the response to the FF.C6 has been "overwhelmingly encouraging," signaling a successful first step into the EV space.
