Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles Reports 31% Growth in April 2026 Sales

Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles Limited (formerly Tata Motors Limited) has announced a powerful start to the 2026-27 financial year, recording a 31.1% year-on-year increase in total sales. The company reported combined domestic and international sales of 59,701 units for April 2026, significantly surpassing the 45,532 units sold in April 2025.

Domestic and International Performance

The growth was visible across both local and global business units:

Domestic Sales: Tata Motors sold 59,000 passenger vehicles in India during April 2026, marking a robust 30.5% increase over the 45,199 units sold in the same month last year.

International Business (IB): While representing a smaller portion of total volume, exports saw an explosive 110.5% growth, rising from 333 units in April 2025 to 701 units in April 2026.

Electric Vehicle Revolution Gains Momentum

A standout highlight of the April report is the performance of the company's electric vehicle portfolio (including sales from its subsidiary, Tata Passenger Electric Mobility Limited).

Total EV sales (Domestic + IB) reached 9,150 units, a staggering 72.1% jump from the 5,318 units sold in April 2025. This surge indicates that electric mobility is becoming an increasingly significant contributor to the company's overall sales mix, reflecting the nation's shifting preference toward sustainable transport.

This performance update is among the first for the company under its new name, Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles Limited, which was adopted on October 13, 2025, following a Composite Scheme of Arrangement.

As a key player in the USD 180 billion Tata Group, the company's April figures reinforce its leadership in the passenger vehicle and SUV segments, driven by its multi-powertrain strategy and focus on vehicle safety and innovation.

Shares of Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles Limited was last trading in BSE at Rs. 341.60 as compared to the previous close of Rs. 352.35. The total number of shares traded during the day was 437954 in over 8538 trades.

The stock hit an intraday high of Rs. 352.50 and intraday low of 337.60. The net turnover during the day was Rs. 150053866.00.
