IMFA Announces Project Updates: Kalinganagar Expansion and Ethanol Project Timelines

Indian Metals & Ferro Alloys Limited (IMFA), India's leading fully integrated producer of ferrochrome, has released a comprehensive status update on its key ongoing projects. The update, signed by CFO Saunak Gupta, highlights significant progress in the company's capacity expansion despite global logistical challenges.

Ferro Chrome Expansion: Kalinganagar Greenfield Project

The company's ambitious 100,000 tonnes per annum (tpa) Greenfield Ferro Chrome project in Kalinganagar is now in its final stages of construction. The project, which features two 33 MVA furnaces, is progressing toward its commissioning milestones:

First Furnace: Pre-commissioning activities are scheduled to commence in June 2026.

Second Furnace: Scheduled for pre-commissioning in September 2026.

Additionally, the company confirmed that its previously intimated strategic acquisition in Kalinganagar is now fully complete, with all four acquired furnaces currently operational.

Ethanol Project Status: Therubali

IMFA provided an update on its Ethanol project located in Therubali. The company noted a slight shift in the commissioning timeline due to equipment delivery slippages and the ripple effects of the ongoing geopolitical crisis.

Revised Timeline: Erection work is currently ongoing, and the project is now expected to be commissioned in July 2026.

Financial Impact: The management clarified that this delay will not have a material impact on the company's overall financials.

Shares of Indian Metals & Ferro Alloys Limited was last trading in BSE at Rs. 1417.65 as compared to the previous close of Rs. 1387.90. The total number of shares traded during the day was 3456 in over 409 trades.
