Mumbai Metro Lines 2B & 9 Go Live with Datamatics' AFC and Mobile Ticketing Systems

Datamatics, a global Digital Technologies, Operations, and Experiences company, announced that it is privileged to be associated with Phase 1 of Mumbai Metro line 2B and 9 as implementing partner of Automatic Fare Collection (AFC) and mobile ticketing systems. The AFC system has provided for faster entry-exit and auto fare deduction. The system is suitable for QR coded ticket as well as common mobility card. Phase 1 of both these lines was inaugurated on April 8, 2026, by Honorable Chief Minister of Maharashtra, Shri. Devendra Fadnavis, and Honorable Deputy Chief Minister of Maharashtra, Shri. Eknath Shinde.

Datamatics has also implemented the AFC solution for the Mumbai Metro lines 2A and 7.

Datamatics has successfully executed over 30 AFC projects globally, including in hightraffic cities such as London, New York, Melbourne, Hong Kong, and Dubai. Datamatics also implemented its AFC solution for the Memphis Area Transit Authority (MATA) in Memphis, USA. In India, Datamatics has successfully executed AFC solution on a turnkey basis for the Mumbai Metro, Delhi- Meerut RRTS, Kolkata Metro, Pune Metro, Lucknow Metro, and Shri Mata Vaishnav Devi shrine cable car in Jammu.

Shares of Datamatics Global Services Limited was last trading in BSE at Rs. 697.35 as compared to the previous close of Rs. 711.40. The total number of shares traded during the day was 2758 in over 270 trades.

The stock hit an intraday high of Rs. 710.00 and intraday low of 694.00. The net turnover during the day was Rs. 1927174.00.
