Operational Updates & Capacity Upgrades
JSW Steel focused on strategic brownfield expansions and efficiency upgrades during the year:
Vijayanagar BF-3 Shutdown: The Blast Furnace-3 at Vijayanagar has been offline since September 2025 for a capacity upgrade. This impacted overall capacity utilization, which stood at ~87% (including BF-3) but would have been ~92% excluding it.
Salem Unit Expansion: Following the upgrade of casters and the commissioning of a new Ladle Furnace, the Salem unit's capacity increased from 1.0 MTPA to 1.15 MTPA effective March 2026.
Consolidated Capacity: Current capacity stands at 35.9 MTPA, with a roadmap to reach 43.4 MTPA within the next three years.
Quarterly Performance (Q4 FY26)
For the final quarter of the fiscal year, combined production stood at 7.49 MT. Capacity utilization for Indian operations during this period was robust at ~96% (excluding the offline BF-3 capacity).
