Hindustan Zinc Limited (HZL), the world's largest integrated zinc producer, has announced landmark production figures for the fourth quarter and the full financial year ending March 31, 2026. The company achieved its best-ever annual mined metal production, crossing the 1.1 million tonne mark.
The growth was primarily driven by higher ore production, superior metal grades, and the successful implementation of debottlenecking projects at the Chanderiya and Dariba smelting complexes.
Key Production Highlights
Mined Metal: Achieved a record 1,114 kt for the full year, a 2% increase YoY. The fourth quarter (4QFY26) specifically saw an all-time high of 315 kt, up 14% compared to the previous quarter.
Refined Zinc: Annual production reached a record 851 kt, up 3% YoY. This was bolstered by the commissioning of a new 160 ktpa roaster and improved operational efficiencies.
Refined Lead: While Q4 saw a 12% sequential increase to 55 kt, the full-year production stood at 197 kt, a 13% decline YoY due to changes in smelting modes and plant availability.
Silver: Total annual production was 627 metric tonnes (approximately 20.2 million ounces). Q4 saw a strong sequential recovery, rising 11% to 176 tonnes.
Renewable Energy: Wind power generation for the year increased by 7% to 372 million units (MU), following favorable wind velocities.
