The Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM), launched by India's Ministry of Jal Shakti in 2019, was inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi to provide functional household tap connections (FHTC) to every rural household by 2030. The initiative addresses critical water access and quality issues, aiming to transform rural health and sanitation and reduce waterborne diseases. As of August 2024, nearly 15.07 crore rural households have been connected, achieving a coverage of approximately 78%. The mission emphasises communityled planning, sustainability, and technological solutions for monitoring. Additionally, it focuses on rural empowerment, particularly for women, by reducing the time spent on water collection and improving overall living standards.
Commenting on the above business update, the management of the Company said: "Winning this bid for the Jal Jeevan Mission reinforces our role as a trusted partner in India's infrastructure development. The order reflects our dedication to quality and our ability to meet the stringent standards required by large-scale government projects. We are proud to contribute to this transformative initiative, which will significantly improve water access and quality for millions of rural households."
