Airtel expands its network footprint in Nanded District under its rural enhancement project

Bharti Airtel, one of India's leading telecommunications service providers, today announced that it has deployed additional sites in Nanded district to densify its network.

The Nanded network enhancement project was undertaken across 1150 villages covering an 18.5 Lac population base. Customers in the tehsils of Hadgaon, Mukhed, Kandhar, Loha, Naigaon (Khairgaon), Ardhapur, Biloli, Dharmabad and Deglurand under the Nanded district will directly benefit from this network enhancement. The expansion will enable seamless access to highspeed connectivity that will ensure reliable mobile network for work, study and entertainment in rural Nanded. In this year alone, Airtel has doubled down on its commitment to the state and has invested additional capex to enhance its network connectivity for seamless experience on 4G, 5G, Broadband and Fiber.

To expand coverage in rural villages in the state and to bring customers to enjoy the power of high-speed connectivity, the rural enhancement project covers nine districts of Maharashtra including Ahmednagar, Sambhaji Nagar, Bid, Jalgaon, Nashik, Solapur, Nanded, Jalna and Buldana.

Airtel has been running this rural enhancement project nationally and will augment network connectivity across 60,000 villages in the country by 2024. Maharashtra has been one of the big focus markets for the Company and with this initiative, the Company will augment its network coverage across 5000 villages covering the entire state.

With the aim of stepping up network capacity and taking services deeper into rural and unconnected areas. Airtel has also enhanced its fiber presence in the state by deploying additional capacities. The addition of fresh fiber capacity will support the growth of demand for high-speed data services in this region. Airtel's network umbrella in the region now covers all key urban, semi urban and rural areas including highways, tourist destinations and trade centres.

Shares of Bharti Airtel Limited was last trading in BSE at Rs. 1216.70 as compared to the previous close of Rs. 1225.05. The total number of shares traded during the day was 46540 in over 2338 trades.

The stock hit an intraday high of Rs. 1234.00 and intraday low of 1212.10. The net turnover during the day was Rs. 56798256.00.
