Antony Waste Handling Cell Ltd - Q2FY23 Business Update

Antony Waste Handling Cell Ltd has announced business update for the Second Quarter ended September 30, 2022("Q2FY23"):
The Company continues to build on its strong trend, with Q2FY23 reporting another set of record high core operating revenue. For Q2FY23, the Company handled 1.05 million tons of waste, which is an increase of 8.2% on a YoY basis. In its Collection & Transportation business, the Company managed approximately 0.42 million tons, an increase of 8.1% YoY while Waste Processing handled approximately 0.62 million tons, an increase of 8.3% YoY. For the H1FY23, total tonnage handled (across C&T and Processing) stood at appx 2.10 million tons, an improvement of 12.5% YoY.
Please note that the total tonnage handled by the Collection & Transportation business excludes those projects with fixed shifts/trips/households.
Total Operating Revenue (tipping revenue from C&T, Mechanical Power Sweeping, and Waste Processing) for Q2FY23 has improved by approximately 12% YoY (including various escalations and revenues from fixed shifts/trips/household fees). The quarter saw a strong and continued rampup in newer projects and the benefits of rate escalation were reflected in the tipping fees.
Total compost sales during Q2FY23 stood at 6,137 tons as compared to 4,406 tons in the previous quarter (+39.0% seq.) and it is up by 111% YoY. The increase reflects higher levels of bio-mining activity executed at Kanjurmarg integrated waste processing site, despite heavy monsoon conditions.
Further, the Company in continuation with its cluster-focused business approach has bagged a 3-year mechanical power sweeping contract in Nagpur. The Contract is for the supply of one Power Sweeping Machine and requires forty kilometres of road to be attended daily.
The quarter has witnessed record-high sales of Compost and shipment of RDF (10,734 tons), a trend that the Company plans to build on for the rest of the year and in the future.
