Spanco Telesystems receives contract to rollout MSWAN

Spanco Telesystems & Solutions Ltd has announced that the Company has received a contract to rollout state wide area network (MSWAN) in the state of Maharashtra. This contract is going to be executed with ITI Ltd lead consortium. ITI-Spanco will be jointly implementing the project and maintain it for 5 Years on Build, Own, Operate and Transfer (BOOT) model.

State Wide Area Network (SWAN) projects are planed under National e-governance action plan (NEGAP) of Ministry of Communication and Information Technology Government of India. This network will provide state wide communication backbone connecting State Head Quarter (Mantralaya) to District Collector Offices and district Offices to Taluka (Tehasil) Offices.

The project is being jointly funded by Government of Maharashtra, Department of Information Technology under SETU along with Ministry of Communication and Information Technology, New Delhi. Total numbers of offices to be connected under this backbone network are 366 and all the departments under Government of Maharashtra will make use of the network. The estimated number of departmental offices called as Horizontal Offices shall be more than 2000 nos. The said network will provide facility to run Voice, Data & Video based media applications and different departmental applications would run on this.

The total value of the Project would be approximately Rs 100 Crores (Rupees One hundred crores).
