Metal Stocks hammered on bourses

BSE Metal Index was down by 10.68% to close at 9937.62. The index had hit an intraday high of 11163.55 and low of 9841.81. The net change during the day compared to its previous close of 11163.55 was -1188.05 points.

HINDALCO was the major loser in NIFTY with the stock closing at Rs.209.6, down by 13.69% over its previous close of Rs.242.85. The stock hit an intraday high of Rs.244 and low of Rs.205.95. 15781775 shares were traded during the day.

National Aluminium (NALCO) was the second major loser in NIFTY with the stock closing down by 11.38% at Rs.288.2. 1360100 shares of NALCO changed hands during the day resulting in a turnover of Rs.4080.71 Lakhs. NALCO touched an intraday high of Rs.328 before tanking to hit an intrday low of Rs.280.05.

Tata Steel closed the day at Rs.586.65, down by 8.88%. The stock had a turnover of Rs.58915.39 Lakhs during the day with 9610320 shares changing hands. The stock hit a high of Rs.647 and low of Rs.572.35 during the day.

Sterlite Industries closed at Rs.516.25, down by Rs.84.4 (14.05%). Mukand Ltd (Rs.102.7, down by 12.67%), Usha Martin (Rs.203.2, down by 12.66%), Sesa Goa (Rs.1289.2, down by 12%), Hindustan Zinc (Rs.899.65, down by 12.71%), SAIL (Rs.84.5, down by 7.95%), Jindal Steel (Rs.1957.7, down by 7.87%), JSW Steel (Rs.293.4, down by 6.19%), Essar Steel (Rs.48.45, down by 10.61%), Raymond Ltd (Rs.511.10, down by 8.06%), Jindal Stainless (Rs.108, down by 8.05%), LLoyd Steel (Rs.13.73, down by 6.73%), Sunflag Iron & Steel (Rs.19.45, down by 6.71%).
