Transport Corporation of India acquires new ship

Transport Corporation of India Limited has announced capacity addition and business expansion through acquisition of new vessel. The company has acquired a new ship to be deployed on the west coast.

The Existing capacity was 4 domestic ships with the capacity of 3500-10600 DWT and the existing capacity utilization is already full. Out of 4 ships, 3 are deployed on the east coast and one on the west coast.

The new ship was acquired on 2nd March, 2017 at an investment of approx US$ 5.5 Mn. The funding of the vessel was through internal accruals and loan from bank(s).

Shares of TRANSPORT CORPORATION OF INDIA LTD. was last trading in BSE at Rs.200.05 as compared to the previous close of Rs. 204.4. The total number of shares traded during the day was 11095 in over 347 trades.

The stock hit an intraday high of Rs. 214.95 and intraday low of 194.35. The net turnover during the day was Rs. 2233553.
