Ambuja Cements Plants resume operations

With reference to the earlier announcement dated August 09, 2007, regarding Disruption of operations due to flood at Ambujanagar (Gujarat), Ambuja Cements Ltd has announced that all the plants resumed operations in a phased manner between August 11, 2007 and August 29, 2007.

Loss of equipment due to flood is fully covered under the insurance policy. The Company has lodged insurance claims of Rs 12.5 crores with the insurance Companies towards the estimated losses.

The Company has suffered loss of cement production of about 2 lac tonnes due to this unfortunate event. Complete normalcy in full production is expected shortly.

The stock closed the day at Rs.141, up by Rs.3.15 or 2.29%. The stock hit an intraday high of Rs.141.50 and low of Rs.136.25. The total traded quantity was 1116718 compared to 2 week average of 1101968.
