United Spirits Updates on Business activities

United Spirits Ltd The Company has taken various steps recently to further consolidate and expand its spirits business. These included amalgamation of eight companies with the Company, demerger of the investment business, acquisition of Bouvet Ladubay in France and in the month of May this year, the acquisition of Whyte and Mackay Limited, a Glasgow based scotch distiller and the fourth largest in the world.

These activities inter a involved setting up of a number of subsidiaries in India and abroad arid also consumed considerable time and traveling by the executives of the Company. The various formalities connected with the aforesaid consolidation and expansion process are at different stages of completion.

In order to present a consolidated picture of the Company, post these activities. the Company has by way of abundant caution, obtained extension of time for holding the Annual General Meeting of the Company upto November 30, 2007 from the Registrar of Companies - Karnataka, Bangalore.

The date of Board Meeting to consider the accounts for the year ended March 31, 2007 and also the date of the Annual General Meeting as soon as the same are finalized.
