Jet Airways, the premier airline of India, has been voted "India's leading airline" at the 13th Annual World Travel Awards 2006. The award was presented at a glittering ceremony at the Turks & Caicos Islands, south east of Miami in the United States of America last night.
Jet Airways was voted "India’s leading airline" by travel professionals worldwide and the current year’s voting campaign reached a total of 167,000 travel professionals worldwide, including 110,000 travel agents.
This is the second significant award won by Jet Airways within a week. On September 15, 2006, the Airline bagged three awards at the World Airline Entertainment Association (WAEA) in Miami for its in-flight entertainment system.
Commenting on winning this award, Mr. Wolfgang Prock-Schauer, Chief Executive Officer of Jet Airways said, "We are dedicated to providing the highest levels of service, on ground and in-flight and have consistently persevered with setting benchmarks for customer service in the Indian aviation industry. The World Travel Award 2006 is a vindication of sorts of our corporate philosophy. We are honoured to receive this prestigious industry accolade and will strive to achieve even greater heights in the future."
The World Travel Awards were established in 1993 to acknowledge, reward and celebrate achievements in the global travel industry. The World Travel Awards are today recognized within the travel industry as the best endorsement that any travel product and service could receive.
