Gangavaram Port Contributes Rs. 3 lacs for construction of bio toilets and drinking water facilities

Gangavaram Port has contributed Rs. 3 lakhs for the construction of bio toilets and drinking water facilities in rural areas in and around Visakhapatnam city. The initiative which is a part of Gangavaram Port Corporate Social Responsibility program is aimed at providing sustainable sanitation system and developing a hygienic network in rural areas.

The shortage of sanitation facilities in India is a major concern with a majority of population lacking access to adequate sanitation and access to water and sewage infrastructure. The construction of Eco Friendly Bio toilets will provide a clean and easy-to-operate alternative solution to village people who are presently using traditional waste disposal system.

According to Gangavaram Port Management, "We are committed to environmental sustainability and social uplift by providing affordable and sustainable solutions for sanitation in rural areas. The Eco-friendly Bio-toilets are a step for improving the Health and Dignity for people especially women and girls . We are pleased to associate with DRDA and will continue to support similar initiatives for creating a cleaner and healthier society."
