Crompton Greaves Q1 net profit after tax nearly doubles to Rs.68.76 Crores

Crompton Greaves Ltd has announced the following Unaudited results for the quarter ended June 30, 2007.

The Company has posted a net profit after tax of Rs 687.60 million for the quarter ended June 30, 2007 as compared to Rs 363.70 million for the quarter ended June 30, 2006. Total Income (net of excise) has increased from Rs 7455.50 million for the quarter ended June 30, 2006 to Rs 9086.60 million for the quarter ended June 30, 2007.

The Consolidated results are as follows: The Group has posted a net profit after tax of Rs 892.20 million for the quarter ended June 30, 2007. Total Income (net of excise) is Rs 15628.30 million for the quarter ended June 30, 2007.

The company has reported an Earnings Per Share (EPS) of Rs.1.88 for the Quarter ending June 30, 2007 compared to Rs.6.94 for Quarter ending June 30, 2006.

The stock closed the day at Rs.277.70, up by Rs.4.65 or 1.70%. The stock hit an intraday high of Rs.280.5 and low of Rs.267.05. The total traded quantity was 410402 compared to 2 week average of 217415.
