              Sankara Eyecare Institutions India, one of the largest tertiary care eye hospital chains, announced the inauguration of their newest Sankara Eye Hospital: Jaslok Chanrai Community Eyecare at Kanpur Nagar, a state-of-the art facility offering quality eye care to the rural community. The hospital was inaugurated on Oct 12, 2014 by Dr. Roshan Jacob, IAS - District Magistrate, Kanpur Nagar in the divine presence of His Holiness, Sri Jayendra Saraswathi Swamigal, Sankaracharya of Kanchi at Tatya Ganj, Kanpur Nagar.
The new 225 bedded 40,000 sq.ft super specialty hospital would have all the state-of-art ophthalmology infrastructure. It would be one of the largest Community Eye Hospitals in the Eastern part of Uttar Pradesh. A dedicated team of expert Ophthalmologists, Optometrists and highly motivated paramedics, working closely together to understand and address each patient's needs would be available. The hospital would work on the model which would enable it to provide highly subsidized eyecare to the rural community at large. The hospital's outreachteamwill visit surrounding villages and districts, conducting vision screening camps for the disadvantaged people to identify eye problems, and transporting those needing surgery to the base hospital and providing medical treatment and corrective surgery and dropping them back to the village - all for free. The specialists at Sankara would work closely to understand and address each patient's needs.
